How to Install Knoppix 6.2 to a USB Flash Drive using Windows and our third party Universal USB Installer. Knoppix Linux is a Free Open Source Live Linux compilation created by Klaus Knopper. It features amongst many things automatic hardware detection and a unique persistence feature with encryption capabilities. Knoppix 6 is based on Debian GNU/Linux and utilizes a lightweight LXDE desktop environment.

- 1GB or Larger USB Flash Pen Drive (fat32 formatted)
- Windows PC to perform the conversion (XP, Vista or 7)

How to put Knoppix 6.2 on your USB Device
- Download and run our Universal USB Installer, select KNOPPIX and follow the onscreen instructions
- Reboot your PC and set your system BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot
Upon reboot, you should be running Knoppix 6.2 from your USB memory stick.
Follow the onscreen prompts during boot to make an encrypted persistent overlay.
